EasyCMS
EasyCMS was the back-office we used on most of our portfolio projects. We wanted an admin system that freed artists from having to come back to us for every update. After looking at WordPress and similar systems, we built our own around what really fits a portfolio site — unlimited pages and galleries, intuitive drag-and-drop reordering, multi-file upload, and an SEO engine that renamed and tagged uploaded images automatically. Built on Backbone.js, it felt more like an app than a CMS.
Free templates — historical
Auro and Story Book were Flash-era portfolio templates we released free in 2011–2012. They are no longer maintained — modern browsers have dropped Flash — and we keep them here as part of the studio's history. Thousands of photographers downloaded these in their day.
Auro — Free portfolio template
A full-fledged portfolio gallery with on-the-fly customisable settings, deep linking down to the image level, SEO-friendly URLs and a lightweight AS3 engine. We released six skin variants — white/red, dark/red, white/blue, dark/blue, black & white, and gray/red. Auro was featured on Behance and is no longer functional in modern browsers.
Story Book — Free portfolio template
A full portfolio template for fashion and commercial photographers, with the same care for typography and image rhythm as our paid client work. Story Book shipped with a next/prev gallery system, advanced preloading with image caching, SEO-friendly deep linking and a kinetic thumb-drag navigation. Story Book is still listed on Dropr as a piece of web design history.
